to the Sons of the Revolution in the The General Society of the Sons of the Revolution came into being in 1876, during a wave of patriotic fervor while our nation was celebrating the 100th anniversary of American independence. Nearly two decades later, on June 7, 1895, the Virginia Society was organized. Since then, more than thirteen hundred Virginia men, through the good times and bad, through the depressions and wars, we have striven to perpetuate the ideals of the American Revolution.
